NEGLECTED POOLS

 

Neglected swimming pools are a significant source for mosquitoes in residential areas. Neighborhoods that have unmaintained pools are at higher risk for increased West Nile virus activity, since the type of mosquito that most commonly develops in these pools are the same ones capable of transmitting West Nile virus.
